Under new legislation outlined by the Bundesrat - the Swiss Federal Parliament - catch and release fishing will be banned in Switzerland beginning next year. It was also revealed this week that Swiss anglers will have to demonstrate their expertise by taking a course on humane methods of catching fish.

For thousands of anglers in Ontario, May means one thing - walleye. In most of the province, walleye season opens during one of the first three Saturdays in May.

Approximately 6,300 under subscribed Special Walleye Licences are still available for Alberta anglers at Pigeon Lake (near Edmonton), Wolf Lake (near Bonnyville), and Lake Newell (near Brooks), through the Special Walleye Licence program.
